Wow. Thank you for publishing this story. Although I don't have Lipedema, I am very insecure about my lower legs and ankles.

My Family Doctor believes (still waiting on specialist diagnosis) that I have Chronic Venous Insufficiency which runs on both sides of my family- also known to the less pleasant people of the world as "CANKLES". Due to my poor circulation, I get numb legs very easily, and permanent tissue edema without wearing compression clothing. When I wore compression socks for the first time I nearly cried because I had never seen myself with properly defined ankles before.

I appreciate the time you took to write this very personal but very informative article. Thank you.
