The badge of environmentally friendly honour remains in the hands of those who are financially privileged enough to afford their moral compass.
I see the freestanding stores in the mall and shiny Model X’s whizzing by me on the streets, and I imagine myself sitting behind the wheel of the modern day super car. Designed by Elon Musk, one of the greatest minds to live in our current day, it feels almost surreal to think about driving one.
I imagine the sun and blue sky shining through the large sunroof as I cruise silently along a freshly paved road laced with trees. I imagine feeling proud to be driving a piece of life-changing technology as I make zero emissions. I sigh hopefully at the thought of driving completely hands free in nose to tail traffic while I listen to an audiobook and sip my travel mug filled with tea. I even picture myself with a latte in hand on a rainy day, feeling sheltered and chic as I roll up to a traffic light.
I have actually driven a Tesla once and it was incredible. It was a Model S with a flashy red exterior and a warm black interior. I distinctly recall feeling very out of my league sitting in a one hundred thousand dollar machine that is worth more than my own life, but I accepted the cruise with a smile. As the…
