Funny story: In grade 11, I unexpectedly got my period in the middle of class and I asked if I could go to the bathroom. My teacher said no. I said “Why not? It’s an emergency sir. Please, I’ll be quick.” He didn’t like that. He asked me to give him an explanation as to why I needed to leave the class during quiet independent work time to use the bathroom. As I’m bleeding down my leg he was going on about how going to the bathroom like this would never happen in the “real world”. I told him loudly in front of the class (because I was angry at this point) that I needed to change my tampon and had just suddenly got my period. Then he sent me down to the office for speaking of “inappropriate bodily functions” and basically doing what he asked.

In other words- f*ck the public high school system.
