Since today is my 24th birthday, I thought I would share my reflections on the lessons I’ve learned so far in life.

  1. If you want something, only you have the power to go out and get it. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard, and opportunities do not guarantee success.
  2. Compassion is essential, but keep your guard up.
  3. Discovering your passion takes time. Allow it to grow at its own pace, and don’t choose a certain path simply because someone else wants you to.
  4. There are three sides to every story: His side, Her side and the Truth.
  5. Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. Don’t believe anything you read on Facebook.
  6. Reading is one of the most important things you can do to further your intelligence and your understanding of life.
  7. Put your phone down. Life is happening right in front of you and you’re missing it.
  8. You don’t have to be a party animal to have a satisfying and rewarding social life.
  9. You are stronger than you think.
  10. Musicians and creative people are not inferior to Doctors, Lawyers and Engineers.
  11. If a partner wants you to change for their own convenience, run away. Find a partner that wants to see…
